In therapy, we believe our work with clients is a collaborative endeavor. More specifically, we seek to collaborate with those who are motivated and curious to change. We bring empathy, expertise, and energy to every session. Successful therapeutic work is founded on a trusting relationship between a therapist and the client. At GHW, we also aim to create a safe, affirming space for individuals of all cultural backgrounds and gender identities.
Our team uses an integrated theoretical and treatment approach to understand each client, and together we create individual and/or family goals. While each clinician has their own style, our team utilizes various empirically-supported, evidence-based treatments when clinically appropriate:
GHW clinicians collectively draw from Developmental, Family Systems, Interpersonal, and Psychodynamic theories in practice.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Skills focused to understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Specialized treatment to address trauma-related symptoms
Play therapy and art-based interventions are often used in our work with children.
We use compassion and empathy as tools to make connections with others and invite them to be vulnerable.
We seek to operate with simplicity as a living example of what we advocate for clients. Living simply provides focus and clarity on our priorities.
We aim to live in the present moment and exercise awareness of self and others at all times.
We believe the opportunity to grow has no end point; wellness is a journey, not a destination.
