Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
October 3, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Greater Hartford Wellness is proud to bring Youth Mental Health First Aid to Avon, CT! This 8 hour public education program teaches participants about the warning signs and symptoms of mental health illnesses in adolescents.
Who is this for? Adults who regularly interact with youth (ages 12-18) – parents, grandparents, coaches, teachers, etc.
What will you learn? How to recognize risk factors and warning signs of common mental health challenges facing youth and what you can do in a “first responder” role. You’ll learn the five steps to take when an adolescent you love exhibits concerning behavior.
What is the cost? Participation is free but registration is requested so that enough learning materials will be available to participants.
When is it? The training will take place over two afternoons, Thursday October 3rd and Friday October 4th from 1-5pm.
Where is it? At Greater Hartford Wellness, 40 Avon Meadow Lane, Avon. Our office is on the second floor and we will be using our sunny community room for the training.
Our trainer is Johanna Peck.
