I believe that therapy is a collaborative endeavor. More specifically, I seek to collaborate with those who are motivated and curious to change. I aim to bring empathy, expertise, and energy to every session. Successful therapeutic work is founded on a trusting relationship between therapist and client.
I use an integrated theoretical and treatment approach to understand each client, and together we create individual and/or family goals. I most frequently draw from Developmental, Family Systems, Interpersonal, and Psychodynamic theories in my practice, and I utilize the following empirically supported, evidence-based treatments when clinically appropriate:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Skills focused to understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Skills driven treatment to tolerate intense emotions and behaviors, live mindfully, and maintain relationships.
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Specialized treatment to address trauma-related symptoms.
